4 Edtech Tools for Teachers that Promote Student Creativity

My #1 passion in education is to help support teachers in producing learning experiences that allow students to become content creators. As a tech coach my job is to provide a teacher with edtech options that will enhance student learning. In this post, I will introduce 4 edtech tools that I am recommending that affords students the ability to create podcasts, infographics, logos, videos, etc.
#1 Canva for Education
Canva for Education is becoming a fixture edtech tool in a lot of k-12 schools. Canva is a phenomenal tool that promotes content creation. Canva is FREE for K-12 institutions and can integrate into a lot of Learning Management Systems (LMS). Students can create infographics, presentations, animations, videos, social media posts, and much much more. The amount of template provided by Canva makes this tool is a game changer and should be implemented in all K-12 classrooms (with your district’s permission). If your district wants more information email Scott at snunes@canva.com and he will help get you informed and started with Canva.
#2 CoolText.com
Cool Text is a FREE graphics generator for web pages and anywhere else you need an impressive logo without a lot of design work. Simply choose what kind of image you would like. Then fill out a form and you’ll have your own custom image created on the fly. CoolText can help your students make a professional looking logo or provide them with components that will make their presentations look professional.
#3 Cleanfeed
Cleanfeed is a web-based audio recording tool that allows anyone to record live audio in high definition with anyone in the world. Students can record audio as long as they have an email and a device that has a mic and speaker. The audio quality of this tool is pretty amazing when using a cellphone with earbuds that have a microphone. This tool makes podcasting easy without having to buy any expensive equipment. The tool has a free plan that will be sufficient for running a podcast activity in your classroom. To use this tool follow these simple steps:
- Create a free account using your email
- Invite others by entering their email address which will send them a link to connect
- Start recording by hitting the record button
- When finished hit the download button to get your audio
#4 CleanPNG
As a teacher, I often find myself looking for pictures without a background. These transparent PNG files work so well when creating presentations, worksheets, and infographics. CleanPNG can also help your students with creating professional looking projects without having to spend copious amounts of time. CleanPNG is a FREE tool and will help students and teachers discover PNG files in a hurry!
